I am a second-year Masters-level graduate student at Penn State University, interested in pursuing a dual-title PhD in English and Visual Studies. Much of my research clusters around health, body, and archive in the nineteenth century and beyond.

TEACHING
I am an energetic instructor who is committed to helping my students develop the mindsets to become better writers and better critical thinkers. It is important to me that each of my students receives individual attention geared toward achieving personal goals, and that each student feels heard, supported, and included in classroom discourse. I maintain an active classroom, where I ask my students to think, listen, and participate actively in collaborative activities and workshops. I focus on guiding my students to develop proficiency in composition across genres, identifying and engaging with key audiences, and active self-assessment through continuous reflection and revision. My goal is for my students to leave my classroom feeling that reading and writing do not pose barriers to their abilities to communicate and succeed in college and beyond, that they are aware of their own needs for growth and development, and that they feel comfortable interacting with audiences that have diverse opinions.
CONFERENCES
